The ZEvent, a sort of video game marathon that raises money for a cause, will take place from September 8 to 11, 2022. This year, five environmental associations will be supported. Which remains to be determined.

What is ZEvent?
Organized since 2016, the ZEvent is a rather special charity event in France. It brings together a large number of communities on the Twitch platform, through lives. Each streamer launches a live on his Twitch channel and asks his community to participate by making donations. This project is animated by two French streamers, Adrien Nougaret and Alexandre Dachary, better known as ZeratoR (1.4 million followers) and Dach.
How much money does it bring in?
For the first edition, 170,000 euros were donated to the Save The Children association. Since then, the kitty has literally taken off: €500,000 in 2017 for the French Red Cross, one million euros in 2018 for Médecins sans Frontière, 3.5 million euros in 2019 for the Institut Pasteur, 5, 7 million euros in 2020 for Amnesty International and more than 10 million euros last year for Action against Hunger.
A false start for the 2022 edition
The ZEvent will support the ecological cause this year, but the elected association is not yet known. A small controversy broke out a few days ago around the one who had been chosen. The GoodPlanet foundation had been selected, but this choice did not achieve consensus within the French Twitch community. Some criticized him for his links with large companies such as TotalEnergies, BNP Parisbas or EDF. GoodPlanet took note of this and ZeratoR decided to submit the association’s choice to its community.
Five associations will share the sum
” We are going to operate very differently this year and offer you a list of associations structurally capable of managing such a sum.ZeratoR announced in a social media post on Saturday. After a vote, we will keep your five favorite associations, which will share the sum equally. »
ZeratoR calls on voters not to rush to vote and to take the time to reflect: “ You have 72 hours to inquire, ask questions, consult their site, etc. You will not find any association that makes consensus in this list but it is by working with everyone that we will move forward. »
How to vote?
To vote, it’s simple: just go to the dedicated site accessible here, enter your email address and select five associations from the 22 proposed. Once your selection has been validated, all you have to do is confirm your vote with an email sent by Crowdsignal and received in your inbox. You have until Wednesday, July 13, at 2 p.m.
Which associations are in the running?
All are involved in the ecological cause but in different ways. The SeaCleaners and Wings of the Ocean fight against plastic pollution of the seas, the Association for the Protection of Wild Animals (ASPAS) and the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO) are more involved in the animal cause, Teragir and WeForest rather want to support companies to invest in sustainable development projects… There are bound to be some that will please you.
