1 – The Sun is Rising

You will often see this message appear at the top of your screen, warning you of the great danger awaiting you. Like any good self-respecting vampire, you won’t shine brightly but will quickly be burned to death if you stay too long under the sun’s rays. You can move in the light for a short time before feeling the effects. That is why, you have the possibility to move during the day. But always stay away from the shadows of different scenery like trees, walls, etc.. Be careful though, the game’s day/night cycle moves these soothing shadows quickly. Do not stand still thinking you are safe. Fate might not be in your favor for very long.

2 – Feed yourself

Your vampire has a blood gauge that empties as you use abilities, take damage, etc. If you drop to zero, you take damage until you die. You will therefore have to suck the blood of your prey in order to fill your gauge again. You can do this on any enemy, except bosses, once they’re underneath 30% hit points. Although we won’t go into detail here, note that each prey has a blood group class and a percentage indicating the bonuses given by the latter. Above all, do not hesitate to take an interest in it. You’ll find out very quickly which blood type best suits your playstyle or what you want to do after taking it.

Note that you can offer half of your current blood to another vampire with vampiric power Expose vein if the urgency of the situation so requires.

3 – Life and Healing Bar

Your vampire has two distinct life bars. The max life bar and the reduced one. Indeed, when you take damage, some are lethal to a vampire and temporarily reduce the max hit points you can heal. This saves groups from taking turns on bosses while the others all recover their HP before returning to battle. You can recover the reduced max life once out of combat.

Also, do not hesitate to heal yourself as soon as possible with the Vampiric Power Blood Mending. You drain your blood to heal yourself. But that’s better than dying in the next fight.

4 – Find useful resources

While you can find a bunch of resources by killing your enemies, it’s still very random. Named places will help you much more. Open your map and hover your cursor over the ones you’ve already found. The type of resources hiding there is indicated there and ensures a suitable quantity. Also, your first objective will certainly be to quickly get to tier 2 with brass weapons and leather armor. You can find these resources in the Bandits’ Copper Mine, in the bear territories and wolf dens or in the Graveyards.

5 – Your heart of the castle

Very quickly the tutorial will ask you to put your first heart of castleimportant base of operations if you want to evolve in V Rising. We strongly advise you not to neglect this part. Find yourself an area with enough space and build the foundations of your first castle. You can place a respawn point and your first workshops there. According to the rules of the server where you are, you will have to supply the Heart with Blood Essence, resource collected by killing opponents. Otherwise, it risks deteriorating until it disappears.

However, don’t get too attached to it. The first region, Bois de Farbane, only houses low level resources and is far from everything. You will quickly end up moving to be closer to your higher tier farming areas.

6 – Hunt down bosses

The main objective of V Rising to evolve is to hunt down the blood of the many bosses living there. Once the foundations of the castle are laid, you can build the altar of blood allowing you to begin your hunts. Each boss has blood v. By drinking this blood, you will unlock new powers and new crafts. It is therefore essential to hunt down the bosses one by one.

Once a boss is hunted, a trail of blood will repeatedly appear showing you the path to follow. Follow her and defeat the boss to get her rewards.

Note that in the Altar of Blood, you cannot see bosses with more than ten levels than your Gear Rating.

7 – Gear Index

It is the sum of the indices of all the pieces of equipment you are carrying such as the weapon, the armor, the jewels, etc. It roughly reflects your level in the game and tells you which enemies are within reach and which are way too strong for you. Following this clue, you will see the bar of your opponents in different colors. The redder they are, the harder the fights will be. If moreover a skull and crossbones is in place of the monster’s level, it means that the enemy is much higher level than you and you have a good chance of staying there during a confrontation.

You can raise this rating by crafting higher tier equipment.

8 – Choose the right weapon

There are up to seven types of weapons. You will only have access to three at the very beginning then up to 5 in tier 2 (copper and leather). The other two will be accessible from the iron. Each weapon grants different bonuses for performing certain actions. Although the weapon to beat you will mainly depend on your tastes, choosing the right weapon to harvest resources has its importance. This will allow you to farm faster.

  • The Sword and the Slicers do more damage to plants.
  • The axe does more damage to trees.
  • The mass does more damage to ores.
  • Spear does more damage to creatures (not humans).
  • Mower does more damage to the living dead.

Additionally, you will unlock one weapon skill from copper and a second from iron. Each weapon therefore has two forward skills.

9 – Vampire Abilities

As mentioned earlier, you will unlock new abilities by defeating the various bosses in the game. There are no less than 40 different skills spread across 5 trees: Blood, Unholy, Illusion, Chaos and Frost. You can’t have it only four active at the same time. One movement, one ultimate and two others, attack and/or defense. Although the choice of abilities is entirely up to your taste, we still advise you to always keep a defense skill, like Hematic Rite, during the first hours of play. This will allow you to block enemy attacks while waiting for your movement ability to recharge.

Feel free to use your abilities as soon as they are ready. Gaining in DPS or mobility during many fights will often tend to shorten them.

10 – Workshops

At last, don’t hesitate to build several refining workshops in your castle. With Vanilla rules, crafting is long, even for simple boards. You will bring much more raw materials than the maximum refining yield of a single workshop. Multiply sawmills, furnaces, etc. to increase your crafting speed and reach your gear and castle goals faster. To give you an example, our castle very quickly saw the birth of three sawmills, eight furnaces, four grinders, etc.
