The 8 Steam (PC) games of the week not to be missed

Game News The 8 Steam (PC) games of the week not to be missed

A new week begins and that rhymes with new games to discover. And one of the best platforms to do this is obviously Steam. Every 53 minutes, a game is released on the Valve platform. Suffice to say that it is necessary to do a little sorting. This is why we are once again offering you a selection of Steam releases to watch in particular this week.

DNF Dueling

Want to beat yourself up while waiting for Street Fighter 6? In a slightly different style, DNF Dueling offers you to distribute mandalas with a vengeance, but not only. Universe of Dungeon & Fighter obliges, the fights are not only played with the fists, but also with weapons and a good dose of magic. Everything is sprinkled with a touch of tactics thanks to your character’s signature attacks, strengths and Awakening effects. Use them at best and at the right time to put your opponent in chaos. Note that DNF Duel offers 16 fighters, inspired by Dungeon & Fighter series classes. We thus find characters as varied as the Berserk, the Echantress or even the Ghostblade. And if you want to learn more about their story, a little passage through the Story mode will allow you, between two fights, to fully immerse yourself in the universe of Dungeon & Fighter.

MX vs. ATV Legends

If it’s more speed and races that make you vibrate, don’t panic, there will be plenty to do this week. And it starts tomorrow with MX vs. ATV Legends. If you are a fan of motorcross/supercross racing, this name is probably familiar to you, and perhaps not for the right reasons unfortunately. The least we can say is that the license published by THQ Nordic has not always been unanimous. But for this new title, the publisher promises to raise the bar. In addition to the multiplayer mode allowing no less than 16 players to compete, MX vs ATV Legends should offer an ambitious career mode to experience the real career of an off-road driver. This will of course include the races, but also the management of the sponsors, the personalization of the vehicles and the decisive choices to be made. In terms of gaming sensations, we are promised a much more precise handling thanks to a brand new physics engine.

Disgaea 6 Complete

We change style and atmosphere to find Zed and his companions in Disgaea 6 Complete. If the name Disgaea may not mean anything to you, know that it is a big name in the world of tactical-RPGs. Suffice to say that this new entry in the Nippon Ichi Software catalog is one of the highlights of this week, even if the notion of novelty here is relative. As you can guess from its name, Disgaea 6 Complete is a new version of the game Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny, released just over a year ago. It thus includes the basic game, but also all the additional content released to date. In terms of features, there will be small new features including the introduction of an “auto” mode for combat and an elevation to the next level.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

We start the list of extensions making themselves available this Thursday with Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Did you think that peace was definitively established after the rescue of the village of Kamura? Nope! The monsters still want to fight. Fiorayne, Knight of the Royal Order, is one of those investigating the why and how of such aggressiveness. To aid him in his quest, you’ll sail to Elgado, an outpost threatened by the dread Elder Dragon Malzeno. Like any good self-respecting extension, Sunbreak promises us several hours of games through new places (the Citadel, the Jungle, etc.) to put old and new monsters out of action. Note that this expansion introduces a system allowing you to alternate between two sets of substitution Talents, as well as Paragon Quests to go on an adventure with small NPCs. If you feel like it, you can already pre-order the game and get a number of bonuses.

Alaloth: Champions of The Four Kingdoms

It was during the Guerrilla Collective Showcase that we learned the launch date of the early access to Alaloth – Champions of the Four Kingdom. Good news for many players who are eagerly waiting to get their hands on this RPG inspired by big names such as Baldur’s Gate and Pillars of Eternity. Between mythological and fantastical inspirations, the game mixes a gripping story with frantic action. The basic pitch is quite classic: a terrible evil god, Alaloth, is corrupting the lands of men, orcs, elves and dwarves by deploying demonic forces there. Your goal is therefore, in the shoes of one of these four classes, to defeat the hordes of monsters and put the vile Alaloth out of harm’s way. To do this, you can rely on your fighting skills, while promoting the interests of one of the forty houses present.

Outriders: Worldslayer

We go back to the expansions side with the action game from Square Enix and People Can Fly: Outriders Worldslayer. Direct continuation of the events of the main campaign, the latter takes us on a new adventure against a new enemy: The Commander. To overcome it, you can count 5 to 10 hours through the hostile ice deserts of the planet Enoch. With this extension, Outriders extends its RPG dimension by offering new opportunities to players such as a second skill tree. Note that a new level of difficulty is also introduced, and it bears its name particularly well: Apocalypse. Two months ago, we were able to discover the first hour of the extension and it had seduced us rather well. Certainly, Worldslayer does not revolutionize the formula, but it looks like a promising extension to continue the adventure.

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course

After several years of waiting, the MDHR studio finally delivers the DLC of its successful game. Title Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, the extension takes the gameplay and the artistic direction that made the success of the base game, to take us to a new island and solve a new dilemma. This time, it’s the Legendary Chalice that’s in trouble. This spectral ally hopes to find her body, but to do so, she must swap places with Mugman and go fight bosses of all kinds. The goal ? Collect ingredients for Chef Lasalière to make THE pie that will allow Mrs. Chalice (as she is called in the “human” version and as a playable character) to resume her life for good. For the player, this DLC is synonymous with three to four hours of new content with even more elaborate and detailed scenery, and still the same engaging and demanding gameplay.

F1 22

We told you above that this week was going to be good for fans of racing games. If off-roading isn’t your hobby, the game coming up this weekend may find itself in your good graces. EA is indeed back with its traditional F1 game. F1 22 will of course offer new cars but will also incorporate the new rules of the championship. To spice up your races a little, know that the mechanics can sometimes make mistakes during your pit stops, thus slowing you down in your race. Note that the scripted mode disappears in this new F1 simulation opus to make way for a hub, called F1 life. In the latter, players will be able to share their trophies, their cars, the appearance of their driver and much more. Other information: the game is VR compatible for the more adventurous (VR Valve Index, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift only).
