Rising gas prices

The regulated gas prices applied by Engie will increase by 4.4% from June 1, the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) announced on Thursday. This increase is due in particular to the rise in gas prices on the world market and to lower than usual European stocks. More specifically, it is 1.2% for customers who use gas for cooking, 2.6% for those who have dual use, cooking and hot water, and 4.6% for households that gas heated.

Prohibition of circulation of polluting vehicles

Already in force in Paris intra muros since December 1, 2020, the ban on the circulation of vehicles bearing the Crit’Air 4 sticker extends to the low-emission zones of Greater Paris from June 1. Diesel cars built before 2006, as well as those with gasoline engines from before 1997, will therefore no longer be able to drive on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in these areas. For trucks, buses and coaches, this prohibition is valid every day. A fine of 68 euros could be applied to offending private vehicles.

This new measure is intended for anyone residing in France or in a Member State of the European Union, for any French national residing abroad and also for applicants who are prohibited from banking.

Change in the conditions of partial unemployment

Contrary to what had been provided for by the decree of October 30, 2020, employees in all sectors will still be able to benefit from a short-time working allowance of up to 84% of their net remuneration until July 1, 2021. It will begin to decrease to 72% of net income from this date, but is maintained at its current rate until September for employees in protected sectors: hotels and restaurants, sport, culture, events. On the other hand, apart from these sectors for which the remainder payable by the employer remains 0%, it goes from 15% to 25% on June 1 for companies in other sectors.
