Nvidia launches the GeForce GTX 1630 to compete with the Radeon 6400

Discreetly Nvidia has formalized the GeForce GTX 1630. The beauty is positioned at the entry level. It replaces the current GeForce GTX 1030.

We are in front of an entry product displayed at a recommended price below the $150 mark. Its GPU takes advantage of an old architecture, Turing. There is no dedicated hardware acceleration for Ray Tracing and DLSS technology. The GPU is a depleted variant of the TU117 from a 12 nm engraving exploited by the GeForce GTX 1650 of 2019.

It is armed with 8 SMs, i.e. 512 CUDA cores, 32 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The card comes with 4 GB of video memory. This is GDDR6 operated by a 64-bit memory bus. The GPU operates at a boost frequency of 1785 MHz.

Finally there is no AV1 hardware decoding while its multimedia features are identical to that of the “Turing” offer. At $150, it positions itself as a rival to the Radeon RX 6400 and Arc A380.
