On Tuesday June 21, the Paris Commercial Court was severe towards Laurent Ruquier. Indeed, in his trial against Catherine Barma, it was decided that the host was going pay almost a million euros damages to his former producer. An end that turns out to be brutal for the emblematic TV duo of the 2000s. Laurent Ruquier will therefore pay €780,000 for “compensate for the loss of margin suffered by the production company” and €219,000 “in compensation for economic redundancies”.
In an interview given to The Parisian, Laurent Ruquier confided that he was not not yet decided to appeal. “It’s not decided yet. We have a month to do it. On the other hand, I did not sue Catherine Barma, it was she who attacked me”, he confided. “I wouldn’t want people to think I was the bad guy in this story. If she had wanted to continue on Saturday night, she had the option. And that point was not retained in the judgment“, he adds before concluding with a warning: “In any case, the next animators with whom she wishes to work have been warned: pay close attention to your contracts“.

In this same interviewLaurent Ruquier agreed that he had been approached by Cyril Hanouna who made him an offer to join C8. Unfortunately for those who would have liked to see Laurent Ruquier on C8, this will not happen, at least not for the moment. “His proposal interested me. I met him, but it did not materialize“, advances Laurent Ruquier.
“And meanwhile, the leaders of France 2 made it clear to me that they wanted me to stay on the channel, which I was no longer sure of. It was so nice to hear“, he added. What is certain is that the presenter goes there by feeling. He underlined the fact that he would not make television that if he were happy and loved.
