Summer begins. And like all schoolchildren who go on vacation, some PAF stars also take several weeks off. This is particularly the case of Gilles Bouleau. The journalist intends to take advantage of the summer heat to rest, and of course to return to the start of the school year on TF1.
Gilles Bouleau reveals the name of his replacement
The system is not complete. At TF1, each journalist has what is called a joker. This is another journalist ready to embody the television news if ever the first falls ill. Or more happily, if he goes on vacation. It is therefore Julien Arnaud that viewers will listen to for the next few weeks. He has the heavy task of informing them every evening, on TF1, and of maintaining good audiences.
The viewers are not out of place, however, since they are used to seeing the journalist present the television news. Gilles Bouleau can therefore perfectly enjoy his holidays, without fear, and return to form at the start of the school year.
Especially since his calendar at the end of the year is totally upset for the future World Cup. Indeed, it begins on November 18, and ends with the final on December 17, 2022. As it is held in Qatar, this change of date (instead of June / July) has been decided. However, TF1 will broadcast a series of matches, 28 to be exact. It is all the usual planning of the chain which is jostled.
Gilles Bouleau criticized after the debate between the two rounds!
The year 2022, already busy for Gilles Bouleau, is therefore not over yet. A few weeks ago, we remember that he had been chosen by the channel to arbitrate the debate between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen. An important role, but with long moments of listening and waiting. Indeed, the goal of Gilles Bouleau and co-host Léa Salamé is simple. They must ask one question per topic to the two candidates and manage their speaking time. And that’s all.
Unfortunately, his serious performance (the debate was well held) did not convince, starting with the host Laurent Ruquier. The latter did not hesitate to say what he thought of it, with a certain vehemence:
“Léa Salamé had made her ponytail to give air to Gilles Bouleau who was falling asleep more and more. We saw him fight against sleep, alas, it does not get better over the course of the exchanges, he struggles not to sink poor Gilles Bouleau. Léa, from time to time, you watch him out of the corner of your eye so that he doesn’t fall on his desk. […] He wonders how you manage to hold on when he is so bored“.
The painful memory of Nathalie Saint-Cricq concerning the famous debate
Even if Laurent Ruquier is not convincedGilles Bouleau’s performance should be commended. Why ? Because five years ago, the debate did not go so well. In 2022, the two candidates very rarely interrupt each other. They listen to each other, contradict each other, of course, but without violence. However, five years earlier, the French did not witness the same scene.
We especially remember the punchlines of Marine Le Pen and her wanderings which undoubtedly cost her victory. But beyond that, the debate was sometimes inaudible, probably poorly managed by the two journalists chosen, Nathalie Saint-Cricq and Christophe Jakubyszyn. We know that the exercise is perilous, and they failed to impose themselves against two candidates determined to win… without letting the other speak. Years later, on the set of C à vous, the journalist returned to this bitter experience.
” We tried to animate but we can’t really say that (…) They sat down, they looked at each other, and they looked at each other. There was a little excitement (…) Me, I’m trying to make a stupid joke that absolutely didn’t work (…) There was a kind of deadly atmosphere (…)”
Viewers can therefore no doubt thank Gilles Bouleau. Because if the debate may not have fascinated everyone, it remained audible from start to finish.
