Florent Pagny affected by cancer: the singer will take several months of rest

In an interview with our Gala colleagues in mid-May, Florent Pagny announced that he was going to withdraw from media life for several months. Suffering from lung cancer, the 60-year-old singer wants to focus on his fight against the disease.

A well deserved break. Suffering from lung cancer diagnosed several months ago, Florent Pagny had all the same wished to ensure his role as coach during the bonuses broadcast live from The Voice. A choice that paid off because this Saturday, May 21, his protege, nour, won the famous TF1 singing contest.

But now, Florent Pagny will take a little rest. This is what he revealed to Nikos Aliagas in a long interview published in the magazine Gala on May 12. “After The Voice, I continue with my last chemotherapy, and after that, it’s over! I’m going to fix myself, enjoy life, my loved ones close to nature and it’s a chance. I will check regularly during these six months of break. Then I’ll be back”he had confided to the star host of the tele-hook.

Florent Pagny: “The tumor has shrunk a lot”

Regarding his health, the interpreter of My freedom of thought assured him that he was much better. “I exit the tunnel. I passed the pure chemo, the one that fights, accompanied by rays: heartache for twelve days, it’s no longer a joke! You know, the seasickness you get after you’ve been on dry land for a week. The first two, they were easier combining chemo and immunotherapy. I reacted so well that we sped it up with radiation and tougher chemo.”had revealed the artist, indicating that “the tumor has shrunk. About the size of a good kiwi, I went to a hazelnut after two chemos”.

But since Florent Pagny is a fighter, he is already looking to the future. “My closest friends have written me a song, but first I need to bulk up a bit before recording it because I’ve lost muscle. It would be difficult to sing too long. Right now, I’m going to share a piece with the kids in The Voice. I’ll see how I breathe because I haven’t sung for a while. But, as long as my voice is there, I am there! I won’t give up! And I’ll finish my tour after I’ve gotten back together!”he concluded.
