How the pricing table works
How does Samsung’s Galaxy S20 FE 5G, released at the end of 2020, compare to Google’s acclaimed Pixel 6, released a year later? To find out, we confronted these two phones launched at almost the same price in an exciting duel. The opportunity to see that the Samsung smartphone, which can be found at attractive prices, is still in the race despite the victory of the Pixel 6 in the end.
A Galaxy S20 FE 5G far from being exceeded
Lighter and offering a microSD port, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G hosts a slightly larger screen (6.5 inches compared to 6.4 inches for the Pixel 6), which above all has the advantage of being refreshed at 120 HZ and display a higher brightness which improves its use outdoors, especially under the sun (788 cd / m² against only 484 cd / m² for the Pixel 6). In both cases, the colorimetric rendering is very good, and it is ultimately the Samsung model that stands out slightly.

Another advantage for Samsung’s phone is autonomy. It charges faster than the Pixel 6 (about 1h 30min, compared to 2h for the Google mobile) and offers better longevity on a full charge despite the integration of a battery with a very slightly reduced capacity ( 4500 mAh against 4600 mAh on the Pixel 6).
Performance and photo for the Pixel 6
So, of course, in the end, it’s the Google Pixel 6 that comes out on top. Its more recent Tensor chip is faster on our performance indices, whether in game or on the application side. A noticeable difference that is not necessarily felt in everyday use of the smartphone, the Snapdragon 865 of the Galaxy S20 FE 5G still providing high-end performance to this day.

On the photo side, Google’s image processing makes the difference, even if the Samsung phone is better equipped with a trio of back sensors (wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto) which gives it greater versatility. The Pixel 6 hits the nail on the head in low-light conditions.
On the price, Samsung advantage
“The highly successful Galaxy S20 FE proves that it is far from outdated to date. Equipped with a beautiful screen, efficient and durable, the smartphone has very few weak points”concludes Laure Renouard, head of the Mobility department at Digital. At €100 (or sometimes €200) less than Google’s Pixel 6, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G certainly remains a model to watch for who wants to change mobile without necessarily spending a minimum wage on a recent high-end smartphone.
