After leaks and teasing that have been kept at a very high pace, we now have a preview of what seems to be almost all of the specifications of Nothing’s future smartphone as well as its launch price.
There won’t be much left to reveal about Nothing’s first phone. If we are to believe new information, we would now (almost) have access to the entire technical data sheet of the Nothing phone (1), its price, as well as the different colors available.
Two colors at launch
The information comes from the site Root My Galaxy in partnership with PassionnateGeekz who would have managed to get their hands on exclusive information regarding the specifications of the device, the different models available, their price as well as some bonus renderings.
According to their information, the Nothing phone (1) would use 50% plastic in its design in addition to the 100% recycled aluminum promised by the brand. We also learn that there would be a second black color in addition to white, exactly like the ears (1).
This leak may seem credible since a while ago, Nothing published a Nothing Series #2 video, where we can see a black smartphone chassis.
The website WinFuture has also been able to access several renderings showing the two colors of the smartphone, which reinforces the hypothesis of the arrival of this second color for the Nothing phone (1).
A rather solid technical sheet for the mid-range
The site also tells us what the smartphone will be capable of. There would be an OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz (as mentioned in the Nothing Series #2 video) with a diagonal of 6.55 inches. The smartphone would carry with it 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM with the possibility of using virtual RAM and would be available in 128 or 256 GB of storage.
The two photo sensors of the phone would respectively be a main sensor of 50 Mpx and a secondary sensor of 16 Mpx whose nature we do not yet know. In the same Nothing video, the designer of the smartphone, Tom Howard, when asked about the number of photo modules, retorts ” How many camera modules do you use on your smartphone? »
We can therefore hypothesize that Nothing has refocused on the focal lengths most used by consumers for its module. We can think that the smartphone will carry a wide-angle and an ultra wide-angle for example. According Root My Galaxyit would resort to a 16MP front-facing camera.
The smartphone will be delivered with a Snapdragon 778G+, a mid-range processor from Qualcomm, the information having been confirmed by Carl Pei himself withinput.

It would offer a 4,500 mAh battery that could be topped up using a 45 W charge that would charge the smartphone to half in just 30 minutes.
Wireless charging will also be part of it. The back of the smartphone will also feature 5W reverse wireless charging that we already saw in action in the very first hands-on video for the smartphone.
A fingerprint sensor should also be integrated under the screen. Nothing would offer with a face unlock option. The speakers of the Nothing phone (1) would be certified Dolby Atmos and it would offer Bluetooth in version 5.2. According to Root My Galaxythe phone is said to be 7.55mm thick and weigh 199 grams, which is roughly equivalent to the measurements of a Galaxy S22+.
No charger in the box for Nothing
Nothing would not include a charger in the box of its smartphone like some other manufacturers like Apple or Samsung and would offer an option to buy it separately.
Again, we could have made this assumption in view of the brand’s video which already gave us a sneaky glimpse of a fairly narrow packaging for the smartphone. This one looks quite similar to what Apple can offer since the iPhone 12.
The Nothing phone (1) will run with the Nothing OS interface which should be based on Android 12 at launch. It would come out in three configurations (prices are conversions of Indian currency):
- 8 + 128 GB: $397
- 8 + 256 GB: $419
- 12 + 256 GB: $456
There would be a two-week delay between launch and release to be able to afford it in most markets where the smartphone will be sold.
India, on the other hand, would be a priority for Nothing, the smartphone would therefore be offered there before the other territories. We can understand the interest of Carl Pei’s company for this country since it was already one of OnePlus’ biggest markets in the past.
