Introduced in 2019, the fifth-generation Toyota Rav4 is built on the Toyota GA-K platform, and for 2023 remains available with two hybrid powertrains, one plug-in and one self-charging. The self-charging Toyota Rav4 Hybrid develops 218 horsepower in front-wheel drive and 222 horsepower with intelligent electric all-wheel drive (AWD-i).
The Toyota Rav4 Plug-in Hybrid, top of the Rav4 range, develops 306 horsepower for fuel consumption of just 1.0 l/100 km and CO emissions of 22 g/km (combined cycle WLTP).
For its 2023 model year, the Toyota Rav4 adopts the latest Toyota Smart Connect multimedia system as standard, which notably benefits from a new 10.5-inch screen with a high-definition color display. The system provides cloud-based navigation that allows precise trip planning with constantly updated information, such as traffic information or the possibility of finding a parking space near your destination.
Customers can also benefit from Toyota’s latest multimedia and navigation services updated remotely in real time, without having to pair their smartphone to the vehicle, thanks to the “Smart Service” pack included as standard for four years, and benefit from Apple CarPlay (wireless) and Android Auto (wired) connectivity.
The new voice assistant allows you to adjust the air conditioning, control the multimedia system, make a phone call and open/close the windows. ‘Hey Toyota’ is designed to understand naturally worded sentences, so if you say ‘I’m cold’ it will respond by closing the windows or turning up the heat.
The Toyota Smart Connect Plus, offering additional functions, is also available as an option. It introduces an in-vehicle satellite navigation system that works even when no connection is available. It can also transmit local weather alerts and notify the driver of Low Emission Zones (LEZs).
The user experience is also enhanced thanks to the MyT smartphone application, which allows customers to receive various information about their vehicle: the fuel level, any alerts, driving analyzes and vehicle tracking, for example.
The MyT smartphone app offers the driver of the new Rav4 an expanded range of remote services. No more worrying about whether you have closed all the windows, locked the doors or turned off the lights: MyT informs you of the status of the car. All new RAV4s have this feature as standard. Thanks to the MyT application, it is possible to lock and unlock the doors remotely, flash the hazard warning lights or control the heating and air conditioning to enjoy an ideal temperature from the start of a journey.
With this in mind, the new Toyota Rav4 2023 also receives a new customizable digital meter as standard, allowing many different display configurations to be set. The large 12.3-inch screen thus offers the choice between four styles (Casual, Smart, Sport and Tough), and three layouts and customization options.
The new Rav4 benefits from a further enhanced Toyota Safety Sense safety system that helps the driver avoid a wider range of common accident risks.
The Pre-Collision Safety System has also been enhanced with intersection assistance, which detects whether the car is about to cross the path of an oncoming vehicle or whether there are pedestrians crossing the road towards which the vehicle is moving. The system then alerts the driver and, if necessary, initiates braking to help avoid an impact.
The new Rav4 also features the Emergency Evasive Maneuver Assist system which helps the driver avoid a pedestrian who has entered the road, while keeping the car under control and in its lane.
A new Lunar White Pearl exterior color is introduced for all versions of the Rav4 Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid, except the Trail version. The Collection version receives a new two-tone paintwork combining Pearl Lunar White with Black Attitude
Production of the 2023 Toyota Rav4 will begin in the third quarter of 2022.
