Tom Cruise plays a divorced father accompanied by his daughter who find themselves attacked with their city by the extraterrestrials. The world is destroyed and all means of communication and transportation are cut off, and the aliens are attacking humans. The only solution is to flee as far as possible to survive. It was Steven Spielberg who had the idea of re-adapting this classic, but the release of Independence Day, which tackled the same theme, pushed the project back.
The last Samourai
The last Samourai follows Captain Nathan Algren (Tom Cruise) a military advisor to the Japanese Emperor. The captain was particularly prominent during the Indian wars against the Sioux, hence this exotic assignment. The problem is that he now finds himself stuck between two worlds and two cultures. He is a member of the Mission Impossible Force team who during the first film are sent to Prague and then falsely accused of being a traitor. Through the various missions of the saga, the actor has built his reputation by performing his own stunts, which are increasingly impressive.
Top Gun is the film that introduced Tom Cruise to the general public. He plays Pete Mitchell, known as “Maverick”, an ace pilot and student of the elite naval aviation also known as Top Gun, he is a hothead who also falls in love with his teacher. Now cult thanks to its music, the synopsis is inspired by the article Top Guns by Ehud Yonay, from California magazine, which talks about the school of the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. The actor had initially been reluctant to play in the film, especially since he was far from being the first choice, but he ended up accepting against a large sum. Following the success, Tom Cruise forged an international career and a sequel was created Top Gun: Maverick currently in the cinema.
